Chipotle and Transparency

E Coli, norovirus, and salmonella are the three outbreaks that made up “the Chipotle Crisis,” and since then, Chipotle has been climbing its way to becoming a cleaner, more transparent company. If you were a Chipotle customer prior to this outbreak you may not enjoy going their as much now, but this should not be the case. Chipotle was extremely open about everything that was occurring during the outbreak, and after. They did this through speaking out on social media and responding to customers concerns and complaints online. Chipotle has even dedicated a page on their website that provides the safety advancements they have been implementing. They also now give out many coupons and are thinking of implementing a loyalty system to reward people who continuously eat at their food chain.

Therefore, if you have not already done so, going back to Chipotle or trying it out for a first time could be something you may enjoy. Their main goals are to gain back the trust and loyalty of their customers as well as continuing to provide “food with integrity”.

Chipotle Mexican Grill plans on continuing to offer their costumers the high quality ingredients they have promised since the time it was founded in 1993 by Steve Ells. They understand that industrial farming practices have evolved to maximize profits and production. However, according to the company’s beliefs, in order for them to set themselves apart from other Mexican chains, they should make an extra effort to partner with farmers, ranchers, and other suppliers whose practices emphasize quality and responsibility.

Love the blog. I’m team chipotle on this one. I’ll eat their burritos until I die, and if they’re now as sanitary as they say they are -wont be soon 🙂

Really liked this blog, I think you did a great job overall diving into how not transparent chipotle is. Nice use of “food with integrity”, good set up for the entire presentation and blog.
